Thanks Chasle, i sure keep that in mind, let me put something together and might be able to take your word to test, i will probably need someone with php knowledge to test my security setup, just to make sure i covered all the basic sessions hack prevention, mysql injections prevention, CSRF protection etc... anything that might help to add the extra security layers to make it as secure as it can get i think i got that all covered very well, since i like to make all my apps as tight as possible from the getgo to avoid being tempered with., but just in case so i can confirm i did not missed a layer of security for the cms before it goes into production. if you think you can contribute like that, i might take your word later on. or we can find some other usage for you to test with. will keep posted on the advances.

Hello atavism community, First let me introduce myself, for those who do not know me yet, I have been in the Atavism community pretty much since the kickstarter campaign when Atavism/unity was barely starting the early alpha, so i thought this would be a good solution for mmo since atavism was using a well known and proven server core technology which was used and created by multiverse mmo. i am glad the atavism devs were using it too and now that the multiverse went MIT, was a great opportunity for atavism to continue to expand its features and glad they opted to adapt the unity engine as a client, so this makes a great package. so taking advantage of my commercial web developing skills, i thought i would expand the Atavism market a little bit further by creating a website CMS(Content management system) specially tailored for Atavism server. I have talked to the atavism dev team and asked if there were plans for this addon app and they said there were no plans yet for something like this on the road map, so i figured i might take advantage of the situation and create my own. so this way atavism devs will focus more time on the engine development instead of a new task like this one. Anyways my background is commercial web developer and I have been doing it for the past 10 years full time non stop, so I figured this will be a great tasks for me to do. A project like this is very large and undertaking if you start from scratch and specially if i am the only dev doing it, but fortunately I have been a fan and long time seasoned user of the famous php developing framework called codeigniter which is a great heavy duty and light footprint php framework which i use for most of my big commercial website projects, this framework has a a lot of great useful library to speed up any website project and this seems to be the right tool to build on top of it a CMS specially designed for atavism server. Like I said before, Atavism website CMS will be built on top of the great famous PHP Framework CodeIgniter which will be used as base core and structure for the atavism CMS, so if you are interested to see what this little puppy has to offer check their website and you will see i have choosen the right tool for the job since it can handle the work load fairly easy and clean, plus CodeIgniter is MIT so I wont be having any issues distributing the CMS application built on top of it in any way, dont you just love the MIT license? thank god multiverse went MIT , therefore we would not be enjoying such a great server core in Atavism engine aswell. anyways, getting back to business: I have been developing this CMS for the past couple of months, so far it is looking good. maybe i may have something to show by the end of this month January this is not a plugin, but more like a standalone php cms web app that will interact with atavism server database, this is a full website CMS (content management system) specially tailored to work and interact with atavism server so since i could not find any other place to start my thread i thought the best place will be here in the plugin section even tho this is not an actual plugin. for starting here are a few needed features planning to implement: 1-account management system: meaning people can register thru the website cms and it will automatically create the account on the atavism server aswell a)register copcha driven to avoid spamming login c)forgot password 2-Account panel: to manage all user goodies ie: a)view ingame characters view current character armor c)view and search game server armory ie: items, armor etc.... d)search other player characters e)who is currently online/ingame playing f)server status etc...... more features to come. 3-Admin panel: a modular and well structured admin system where admins can control all the website content, edit pages, add remove users, search, add items,view statistics enable or disable website features etc...... etc..... full control over the website 4-Forum: a custom forum specially tailored and customized for this framework where logged in users can post threads view etc.... meaning no need to login again just for the forum. 5-media manager: a custom built media management system for posting videos, screenshots, wallpapers, etc... for the game 6)messaging system: where users browsing the website can message other users who are loggedin for private messages between them. 7-Patch notes system: where admins can post patch notes from the game that will be displayed in its own page on the site 8-Search armory: where users can browse existing armor or items from the game. 9-website add extra page system: where admins from site can add extra pages to the website with a wysiwyg editor 10-Link system: where admins can add links of website pages to any of the menu bars from the website from admin panel 11-Online Store: where users can browse and purchase ingame items and usable goods thru the website where eventually and automated the items will be added to the atavism server after purchased, meaning microtransactions for ingame items. all done thru paypal gateway system. 12-News system: where admins can post website or game news section of the website, where users can comment aswell etc.... and more to come. Basically the CMS will consist of a full and complete CMS website system specially for an tavism game server. Disclaimer: the above list is a large and undertaking task if built from scratch for 1 single developer, but like mentioned before, I will be using a great php framework which will help me speedup the project at lighting speed. plus there are a lot of existing php framework resources and goodies that will be used to put together this CMS, meaning with the mentioned framework and existing resources will help me merge all them together and put together a great CMS specially tailored for Atavism server engine. so, yes with my php wen dev skills i know i can pull it off :-) wish me luck, lol will keep on posting on advancements etc... cheers EDIT 01-12-15: With the help of Neo from Atavism, i have put a poll so all the interested parties in this CMS web app for atavism can vote and name a fair price for the work ill be doing. please be advised the price tag you choose will help give me an idea of what you needs are and how complex/robust or feature rich you want the CMS to include, or how exactly to market it in the community the vote does not automatically mean the exact final price or plan that the project will have, but to help me see what the community want or an aprox price on the final project. I ll try to include as many features as i can depending on everyones budget by voting your price selection. depending on this vote ill try to make it as fair and available to everyone interested
  3. when you get funded from your kickstarter campain, then you let me know. then i might be able to help to your project if you like. but no sooner than that. i just do not really like the work now, and get paid later kinda deals. someone has to pay the bills and it wont be the kids or the neighbor. nothing personal, its just i have been burnt so many times for free in the old days. so been there done that. now i learned for project i start working with as a commercial web developer and designer, UI etc... anything related to graphics and php, c# etc..., i dont start until i get half the pay for the project and the other half at project completion. i just learned the hard way, so i am pretty sure everyone will agree. maybe some other people like to do it otherway, but not me, sorry for being so blunt. :-) regards
  4. whats wrong by doing it like this? does my words bother you or making it public? again sorry did not mean to offend or trash. aren't we all "a guy in his home doing this as a hobby" at least most of us" meaning you just reduced your chances to make business here from 100% to 1% or 2% :-( i am sorry but you really lost me here, i dont really see a valid excuse for not posting a visual screenshot of your products unless you trying to hide something?. it just not valid explanation, sorry again, but in my head does not compile the current statement, i assume i am not the only one here trying to understand. no a valid response, resident evel is not even an mmo, isnt it, maybe i am wrong, but i am sorry again that is only if you planned to release for mid to high end hardware market base, this is for mmo, where every single optimization counts. if i were to do that then i would select a different game engine, unreal perhaps, or cryengine ? but this is unity, for the masses and there is a reason why unity is so popular because it runs in even the lower ends setups reaching masses which in my case would like to do the same, maybe other or you are targeting mid to high end only players. i really would like to make my game as optimized as possible meaning to have as minimum tris count meshes in any given scene view. nope. is just that i dont really know if your product is to my taste or not, because i havent seen the quality yet, you dont show it to us, why? you expect us to do a blind folded purchase and the you clearly state no refunds? which i agree, no refunds policy for digital items, but show me your product first, you just do not do it openly, is your words only, my pocket do not like mysterious blind folded purchase, you never know what you get. my budget is ok, it is just that with your answer and responses make it very easy for me to decide what to do, i just needed a justification to purchase in this case visuals to see the quality of your models, but thank you for making it very easy to not to even try to purchase your mysterious hidden products, i dont really want to take a chance by doing a blind folded purchase without any warranty of your product. i just hope every1 else is not that naive to do it, if they dont ask or "rant" as you stated, does not mean they or we will fall for it. so thank you for making it easy to look away. again did not mean to offend or trash talk, i clearly stated that, just a concerned member of this community making sure will do the right decision without regretting the purchase. best regards to you and best of luck in your product launch. wish you all the best. and thank you again for your influence for making my decision easy. cheers

I am really sorry for what i am about to say, but i really need to say it, and do not mean to make you feel bad or troll your product. reason why i do not even attempt to purchase your product. i am thinking twice before i do something i regret if i purchase blindly. I dont want to be a nag, but i just cant believe my eyes. i mean, planned release price $400? alpha $200? indie ironically. $400 or even $200 is an enormous amount of money to do a blind purchase like this. at least for me, i work too hard for my money if it is not a justified purchase or need. not really indie friendly, atavism indie = $70 the main core heart of the whole enchilada. if you compare a $400 or even a $200 addon. well, let me explain, again my intention of this post are not to look like a troller, and ill backup all the above words so people know i am not just talking troll. i mean i am not a competitor or anything related to troll, but man, come on. ok, back to facts fundamentals, -there is just static model meshes only -no animation(90% of time pro animations are the hardest to do, therefore the value of product) -7k triangles count, high count for mmo environment if you want optimization and crowded places. -10 dls per model, well actually $20 since they are male and female of each, meaning, female or male conversion is almost the same, but to add or remove gender related features, easily done. -no visual of the models, not s single pic of them, just your word. -no refunds, i do agree with this one since it is a digital product., but if you dont show me (visually)what i am purchasing before the purchase how would i know the quality of models, and mostly of the material of the models. ive seen people posting show me the pics but you lack to do the propper action. nor have seeen it ever. your website is not the high end graphics design, so does not really gives me confidence on the product you are selling to be of my liking(visually speaking) this makes my pocket nervous to click the pay now button? again i am not trolling i am just explaining why i will not buy right now even if you rush me with the price increase deadline you doing. just do not sound right in my mind. Ill tell you what i would expect with a product like this and price you offering. and if one looks at the unity asset store and compare prices and features of similar models, you will know i am not trolling or trashing this thread, just stating facts and my personal opinion which i am entitled to as a member of this community. what i expect for $400 or $200 product: -professionally built meshes -detailed models but optimized to 2k or max of 3k tris count for mmo environment -at least 1 LOD half or less of tris count for optimization in mmo setup -high quality materials optimized material atlases -at least 20 basic animations, just the basics, run walk, swing, hit wave, etc...... -and mostly a visual representation of what i am getting, show me the product kinda deal before i purchase so i wont regret the purchase by doing a blind purchase. again, my intentions are not to offend or talk trash your product. i assume if ti s great product and you deserve what you are asking for, but no visual and no optimized features leads me to think twice of this product at the moment, so am politely asking for visuals so i can see if our product is of my liking and it will justify the $200 hard earned money. thank you again and have a great day.
  6. server side collision is very hard for non unity server, only way for 100% authoritative is unity server with uLink network plugin for mmo. like sooms say, you will be waiting for a while because is very hard to do for non unity server. photon and smartfox plugins not have server side collision and will never have because is very hard to do unless you add a third party physics engine. is so hard that will be faster to switch to ulink network and start from beguining with neoland than creating server side collision with atavism server. i dont need server side collision, my game is just for fun to learn unity more, but if you are for commercial, then atavism is not for you yet. i do agree that atavism people wasted too much time creating housing and voxel land in the kisckstarter, maybe why no success in goal. they never move on from housing only. atavism people need to listen to public and no themselves or vanity features, they need to focus on main fundamental core features. voxel is very performance heavy, even for small singleplayer scenes, so very worse for open world land, voxel no good for mmo. i still want to help for community project, collision or no server side collision, it do not matter for demo project.
  7. ohh, ok, well i see cookimage is online on unity forum and here, and he has not reply for the community project, so i guess this is not really something that he may carry on or maybe later , since he may busy with kickstarter.

  9. ah, ok, well as long client holds physics for terrain and collisions the demo can be started since is just a demo for show the engine for advertise. so i think we good to start on the demo as soon devs authorize?
