Netsun Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 I whant to know if the new Dev team think about change the db (myslq) to MariaDB. In Performence terme MariaDB is a lot better now and new linux support dosent have mysql as default pkg.
Martin (Dragonsan) Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 We are using MariaDB in our environment, but it's hard to support all version of Database, still we are using 5.5.x patched version in our dev environment and it is working stable and fine so MariaDB is supported.
Drago Posted November 6, 2017 Report Posted November 6, 2017 Same here. MariaDB is working. Never used the Mysql for Windows with Atavism. A bit of background: Most Linux distributions are installing MariaDB, so do Ubuntu/Debian. With an apt-get install mysql, Ubuntu will install a stable version of MariaDB. Mysql is not free for commercial use. Support for cluster and other solutions if you want to scale automatically isn't free of charge. Open Source doesn't mean, for free. If you are bringing your game to production you will need to get it on a headless linux environment.
